About the Crane
Nature in Flight uses elements found in nature as the central part of the spiral design. “Part of the process is letting the wood speak its design to me which is evident on the back of the crane. The wood grain had a flow of water which I chose to emphasize.” The process Debra utilized in creating this crane connected her to the spirit of freedom, the same freedom she experiences when she sees cranes.

About the Artist
"I am a college counselor at CMC and an art therapist. Art has always played an important role in my life. My current work has primarily been sculpture (clay and natural elements) as well as mandalas. I feel a spiritual connection when I am in nature and love to integrate elements from nature in my art”.
